Help stop the spread of germs

Colds often make you feel miserable. Suffering through a flu virus isn’t fun either. Nowadays, antibiotic-resistant bacteria called MRSA are popping up in communities across Utah and the rest of the country. Those infected sometimes become quite ill.

What is MRSA?

Many of us unknowingly carry methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus or MRSA on our skin or in our nostrils, and it doesn’t trouble us at all. But, if this germ gets inside our bodies, it can cause skin infections. More serious cases infect the bloodstream, lungs or urinary tract, and lead to pneumonia.

How can I protect myself, my family and others?

Simple answer – wash your hands often and well! And, help young children to become really thorough hand washers. They’ll thank you for a lifetime of good health.

Spread the word:  Clean Hands Are Cool Hands

But how do you get kids excited about the boring but so important task of washing their hands?  Mitchel Musso, co-star of the popular series, “Hannah Montana,” can help.  He’s featured on an educational Web site, which entertains kids while sharing tips and materials about reducing the spread of viruses and germs.

Mitchel is so cool! See him at
